Rebuilt Title
These vehicles were previously branded salvage due to theft, collision, hail, flood, or another major event. If the vehicle previously sustained damage:
- Those repairs have been completed and it has passed the required state inspection
- Buyers are welcome to inspect these vehicles closely to confirm their quality and condition
Rebuilt title vehicles offer the greatest savings in the market -ideal for buyers who want maximum value, or want to move up in years or trim and keep the same payment.
Clean Title
Usually franchise dealer trade-ins. Some units may show an accident on a history report, but:
- The vehicle carries a clean, unbranded title
- No salvage, rebuilt, or insurance branding
- Factory warranty remains in place when applicable
These are ideal for buyers wanting traditional financing and clear history.
Clean Title With Total Loss History
These vehicles have a clean title, but the history report will show a previous total loss. In these cases:
- The insurance company paid out a total loss claim
- The damage was not severe enough for the state to issue a salvage title
- The title remains clean (not salvage / not rebuilt)
Because state rules vary, verify with your local DMV that your state will honor the titling state’s clean status when you go to register the vehicle.
Manufacturer Buyback (Lemon Law)
These vehicles were repurchased by the manufacturer under state lemon laws or customer satisfaction programs. After the repurchase:
- The manufacturer or an authorized facility diagnosed and repaired the original concern
- Many are reinspected and recertified
- Manufacturers often include additional warranty coverage related to the repaired component
- History reports will show “Manufacturer Buyback” or “Lemon Law Buyback”
Important & Why It Matters: Most states do not brand manufacturer buyback titles. These vehicles typically retain a clean, unbranded title, with the buyback status shown only on the vehicle history report. That means you can purchase a fully repaired, warrantied, and transparent vehicle — often at a significant discount compared to traditional inventory.
